At last, I have organized the details for my freelance editing/writing business. I found a new name, kicked off a website, and I’m ready to start marketing my new business:
Right now, the site is primarily for writers who are looking for help with their projects. As I move forward with the business, I will be considering other angles such as book reviews, author interviews, and advice from ‘the professionals.’ I hope you’ll pop in for a visit and spread the word.
With that said, I’m taking the summer off from blogging.
I know. Gasps all around.
This was a very difficult decision because I was worried about my blog losing ground, as well as missing out on fabulous posts from my fellow blogging pals.
But my freelance business isn’t the only reason behind this decision. I’m also ready to write the second draft of a new novel. I finished my rough draft in April, and I put it aside to let it marinate. The Writer…Uninterrupted series that I’d been posting over the past few months follows my experience with a writing change, which resulted in a complete rough draft, with a concrete beginning, middle, and end. I have never done that before. Sure, I’ve won a couple of NaNo’s where I wrote 50,000 words, but they were disorganized clumps of ideas that gave me little insight as to what I actually wrote. This is the first time I am confident in a rough draft.
Then, there are the kids. Busy kids. Keep-me-running-around-all-day kids. They’ll be home all summer. ‘Nuff said.
You might see me around other venues such as Facebook or Twitter or LinkedIn. You may just see me liking a post of yours. But for the most part, I will be working behind the scenes.
See you in September. Happy summer to all!
